DimeDropper ESPN Connector privacy policy.

The connector has a single purpose: connect an ESPN fantasy basketball league to your DimeDropper account without copying ESPN cookies by hand, and keep that league's data up to date. It is not affiliated with ESPN, Disney, or the NBA.

Last updated: 2026-10-17

What it reads

Two ESPN cookies, and only when you connect.

  • ESPN cookies (SWID and espn_s2)Read from ESPN domains only, and only at the moment a league is being connected or synced.
  • URLs of open ESPN fantasy tabsRead only to detect the ESPN league ID. Page content is never read, and no script is ever injected into any page.
  • Your DimeDropper session cookieRead from the DimeDropper site and sent as a request header so DimeDropper knows who you are. Used for a single request and never written to storage.
What it stores

Only non-secret state.

  • Connected leaguesESPN league IDs, each with its team name and last sync time.
  • Active league and sync progressWhich league is selected, and the current sync status and step.
  • Auto-sync preferenceWhether background refresh is on.
What it never stores

No credentials, ever.

  • ESPN cookiesSWID and espn_s2 are never persisted in extension storage, local storage, or any file.
  • Session tokensThe DimeDropper session cookie is never persisted.
  • Everything elseNo passwords, API keys, payment data, browsing history, page content, or analytics.
Where data goes

One server: dimedropper.app.

ESPN league credentials (league ID, SWID, espn_s2) are sent only to DimeDropper over HTTPS, where they are encrypted at rest. Nothing is sent to any other server, third party, or analytics service, and data is never sold or used for anything other than connecting and syncing your league.

Background activity

Optional, and off with one click.

With auto-sync on, the connector refreshes your active league about every three hours while your browser is running, skipping any league synced in the last hour. It opens no tabs and sends nothing beyond the normal sync. Turning the toggle off in the popup stops all background activity.

Permissions

Why each one is requested.

  • cookiesRead SWID and espn_s2 to connect the league, and the DimeDropper session cookie to sign the request.
  • storageKeep the non-secret state listed above.
  • alarmsSchedule the optional background refresh.
  • ESPN and DimeDropper sitesNeeded to read ESPN cookies and league IDs, and to reach DimeDropper.

The connector does not request activeTab or tabs, and cannot read the contents of any page. It contains no remote code.

Revoking access

Remove it any time.

Removing the extension deletes everything it stored. To revoke DimeDropper's access to your ESPN league, disconnect the league from your DimeDropper account. Questions, data export, or deletion requests: support@dimedropper.app.
